May Day Fair

Southgate Green, London, N14 7EG

Join us for Christ Church Southgate’s 40th annual May Day Fair! Southgate’s largest one day fundraising event. The Green will again be closed to traffic as well as stalls, activities and games there will be performances in the arena, including the crowning of the 2018 May Queen by the Mayor of Enfield and, of course, our popular May Pole dancing! This year, our main beneficiary (receiving half the surplus made on the day) will be Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice. The May Day Fair is organised by Christ Church Southgate with the support of the Southgate & Highlands ATC & the Hatters Explorer Scouts, who will also benefit from the funds raised. Make sure you buy one of our special “May Fair” jute shopping bags to carry home all your bargains. Buy tickets for our fantastic raffle!

We have spare spaces for stalls both indoor and out for the sale of craft items, home made goods and charity stalls. Our stallholders welcome letter is here and our booking form with prices can be downloaded here.

The ballot is open to become our May Queen (aged between 7 & 11), Page Boys and Attendants. Please send names, ages, addresses and telephone number to the parish office or email by Sunday 29th April.

Can you spare an hour or two to help run stalls on May Day? There are many ways to help on the day. Get in touch and let us know if you can support us!

Good quality gifts, china and glass, tombola items, toys and games & books appreciated. Please leave donations on the bench inside the main door of the church (open Wednesday and Friday 10am-1pm and 2.30pm-5.30pm and Sunday 7.45am-11.45am and 5.45pm-7.45pm). Donations of cakes and sandwiches and plants for sale on the day much appreciated! Thank you!

We will be having a stock sorting morning at the back of Church House on Saturday 28th April from 10am-1pm. We will be sorting items donated for sale to make sure they are in working order, removing stock that is damaged or cannot be sold and boxing up ready to put out on May Day. Helpers appreciated!

See you on the day!
