Christ Church has two Study Groups, each led by one of our Lay Readers.
They are small groups of about six to ten people and meet approximately every two weeks. The group led by Malcolm D’Aubney meets on Mondays and that led by Cathy Dallman on Wednesdays. Our calendar follows the term times of the academic year.
Topics have included Bible study, liturgy, and ethics. The two study group leaders coordinate their programmes, although they may vary the order in which topics are studied and the approach taken.
In the past year, we have studied distinctive aspects of John’s Gospel (‘signs’ and ‘I am’ sayings) and Christian ethics (during Lent, when the groups combined for a course led by the Vicar, whose textbook on ethics is to be published by SPCK next year).
We run the groups with the aim of engaging everyone in good and lively discussion and we are very keen to welcome new members. Please e-mail or phone the Parish Office if you are interested in joining one.
