400 years may seem a modest anniversary to some, but it is an important one for us! As a suburban church in a changing part of London, we face familiar challenges in serving our Parish community; ensuring our accessibility and availability, remaining meaningful and relevant to a diverse population, particularly those who are yet to set foot inside our church. We used our anniversary programme as an opportunity to reach out to all in our parish – working with local groups and organisations to encourage them to hold meetings and events in our building with us.
The highlight was a special Anniversary Eucharist on 24th May 2015, which was celebrated by The Rt Revd and Rt Hon Richard Chartres KCVO, the Bishop of London.
Another highlight of 2015 was the appointment of The Reverend Dr Chrichton Limbert as our new Vicar – the thirteenth Vicar of Christ Church Southgate.
Thank you to everyone who came to Christ Church Southgate during our special year. Please come again soon! All are welcome at our Inclusive Church.
