After the 10 a.m. service, the ashes of Pat and Jim Ritchie will be interred in the churchyard.

Congratulations to Sarah & Ellie Tobin who completed their exceptional 52 mile walk along the Ridgeway in 23 hours and 55 minutes last weekend in aid of Sense, a national disability charity that supports people with complex communication needs to be understood, connected and valued.  It is still not too late to support them by making a donation on their JustGiving page.

The Social Responsibility Committee will also be helping Sarah & Ellie with another cake sale after the 10 am service as well as adding in the donations for coffee during June.

Eco-theology seminar, garden tour and meditation at St James’ Piccadilly, church hall, from 1.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m.  The leaders of A Rocha (the organisers of the Eco-church awards) will speak about the theological perspective of conservation and biodiversity.  This will be followed by a tour of the Southwood garden with meditation.

Today and 24th June, 6.30 p.m.: Choral Evensong. The music at Choral Evensong will feature music which the choir will be performing during their residency at St David’s Cathedral in August. Anthems will include Parry Blest Pair of Sirens (17th June) and Gibbons This is the Record of John (24th June).

Thursday 21st June: The Prayer Group meets at 2 p.m. in church. 

Friday 22nd June: Coffee Morning and Craft Club.  Please join us from 10.15 a.m. – 12 p.m. in Church for coffee, tea and biscuits.

Friday 22nd June, 6.30 p.m.  Choral Evensong with the Junior Choristers, which replaces the 5.30 p.m. said service.

Sunday 1st July, 11.30 a.m.: A History of Venice Talk by Richard and Timothy Brain. To get you in the mood for the Choir’s tour to Venice next year Richard and his father Timothy will be giving a talk on the history of Venice. The city of Venice has a fascinating tale to tell from its earliest days as a swampy retreat for its embattled inhabitants, to the high glory days of the Venetian Republic. Timothy and Richard both read History at University, and Dr Brain now regularly gives talks all over the country as a police academic. Tickets will be £5 in aid of the Choir Tour Fund (under 18’s free) and will be available from Richard at

Friday 6th July: Summer Barbecue at Church House.  Burgers, sausages and vegetarian offerings will be available from 6 pm until around 10 pm.  Full bar facilities available.

Sunday 15 July, 5 p.m.: Choir Summer Concert. Members of the choir will once again be showcasing their individual musical talents for their informal summer concert. There will be a mix of solo instrumental and solo items as well as some full choir pieces as well. No doubt the new piano will feature prominently!

Oberammergau Passion Play 2020.  The brochures have arrived for the Parish Trip to Oberammergau from the 26th August to 2nd September 2020.  This amazing event only happens every 10 years and tickets are very sought after.  If you are interested, take a brochure or speak to Fr Chrichton.  Our allocation is filling up very well, and we now only have one twin/double room left.
