Wednesday, 26th April: Churches Together Agape Meal at Christ Church Cockfosters at 7.30 p.m.  Tickets are £5 and if you would like to go, please speak to Hazel Miall, Phillip Dawson or John Marriott.

Thursday, 27th April: The Prayer Group meets at 2 p.m. at 64 The Greenway. 

Friday, 28th April: Coffee Morning and Craft Club.  Please join us from 10.15 a.m. – 12 p.m. in Church for coffee, tea and biscuits.

Further Notices

Sunday, 30th April: AGM and Annual Parochial Church Meeting will be held in church at 11.30 a.m. All parishioners are encouraged to attend.  Business will include the election of Parochial representatives of the laity as follows:

1 Church Warden.

3 representatives to the Deanery Synod.

3 representatives to the Parochial Church Council.

Nomination forms for these positions are available on the table at the back of church. Forms should be completed and returned to the Vicar or to the Secretary to the PCC (Patricia Ashby) by Sunday, 30th April 2017.

MAY FAIR 2017 in aid of the Haven House Children’s Hospice.

Monday, 1st May: HELP NEEDED…

Buy one of our Limited Edition “May Day Fair” jute bags.  The bag to be seen with! Only £5.

Nominate our queen, attendants and page boys. Closing date 6 p.m. on Saturday, 22nd April.  See Spire Magazine for details.

Buy raffle tickets and sell to your friends!  Deliver May Fair fliers to local houses (collect from back of church).  Let us know about anyone we can approach for a raffle prize!

Let us know about local companies you can approach for sponsorship or programme advertisements.

Encourage entries in to the Children’s Art Competition – deadline for entries is Friday, 28th April. The theme is “Green Southgate”.  See Spire Magazine for details.

Please sign up to help us run a stall for an hour or two. Add your details to the rota at the back of church. We’re particularly looking for someone who can help set up the Audio System on the day.

Books, CDs, DVDs, toys, good quality bric-a-brac, china and glass appreciated to sell.  Please leave inside church entrance or arrange for delivery to the Parish Centre.

If you can bake or provide cakes for the cake stall, please speak to Phillip Dawson or Hilary Meur.

Sunday, 7th May: Top Step Talk in the Bar at 8 p.m.  The speaker will be Lindy Hunt from the Haven House Children’s Hospice, which is our main charity being supported by the May Day Fair.  Come and hear about the great work that they do.

14th May 2017 to 21st May 2017 – Parish Pilgrimage Walk in the Peak District:  We are now seeking sponsorship and donations for our walk in support of the charity Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice. 100% of your sponsorship goes to the charity. Speak to Jackie Anderson (02082450305 or 07504715367) or Ronald Lo (02088823335) if you have questions. Sponsorship Forms are available from the back of church. Online donation is also available via the church website. Don’t forget to Gift Aid if you can. See article in the April issue of the Spire for more information. It is still not too late to join the walk if you are interested!

Sunday, 15th May: Rounders Match between Christ Church and local church.  This will take place near the cafe Oakhill Park.  Please bring a picnic and cakes to sell in aid of Christian Aid.  Come either to watch or, better still, to play.

Are you First Aid Trained?  We are compiling a list of First Aiders within the congregation in case of emergencies.  If you have received training in the last 5 years and would be prepared to be on the list let Phillip Dawson or Fr Chrichton know.  Many thanks.
