Waterfall Group
1st Tuesday of every month (except August) at 8.30pm in the Reception Room in Church House.
The Waterfall Group continues to thrive, even with its small membership and irregular attendance. However, it is this informality which gives the group one of its best features, allowing the young women of Christ Church a chance to have an evening out with friends, when and if their busy family and /or working lives allow.
The Group evolved from the old Walker Wednesday Toddler Group
, having found that our children had grown too big. Some members joined later having met some of the members at Church or through one of the other organisations or groups in the church. The Waterfall Group provides the forum for familiar faces to get to know one another better and for some, even a family support network.
We are proud of the fund raising we have accomplished over the years, for both the youth of the Church, Charities and more recently the Church Fabric Appeal. Our fund raising activities are primarily the Charities Christmas Fair and May Day Fair. We have also hosted events of our own which have included a 60’s & 70’s Night, Barn Dance and helped to with catering and décor at numerous social events within the church.
Occasionally we have evenings out when we visit the cinema, the theatre or go ten pin bowling. At Christmas we always try and have a meal out at a local restaurant and members occasionally host a Bring & Share evening at their house.
For a small group we hope we play an active role; perhaps with a stronger membership we could play and even greater role within ChristChurch. We meet on the 1st Tuesday of every month (except August) at 8.30pm in the Reception Room in Church House. There are no strict rules of membership, so, if you are free, do come along.You would be very welcome.
