JOINING CHRIST CHURCH CHOIR

Christ Church has a very strong choral tradition with weekly sung services of Eucharist and Choral Evensong. There are regular concerts, cathedral visits and trips abroad, which contribute to dynamic and friendly nature of the choir. We are always interested to hear from potential choir members, be they prospective junior choristers, choral scholars or volunteers.

Junior Choristers
Potential choristers (aged 6+) will not necessarily be fluent music-readers or have had much prior singing experience, but will have a good ear, reasonable vocal ability and a willingness to commit fully to rehearsals and services. Depending on experience, they will join as probationers or junior choristers.

Choral Scholars
Four choral scholarships of £500 per annum are awarded to young singers (aged c.16-25) of all voice parts wishing to gain experience in the Anglican tradition. The next round of auditions will be held in late September 2010. Please click here for specific information on how to apply.
Adult Volunteers
The volunteers form the heart of the choir and work tirelessly to maintain the excellent standard of singing at Christ Church.
Rehearsals and Service Times
Fridays:
6.15 - 6.45pm Probationers Rehearsal
6.45 – 8.20pm Junior Choristers & Probationers Rehearsal
7.15 – 8.45pm Senior Choristers Rehearsal
8.00 - 9.30pm Volunteers and Scholars Rehearsal
Sundays:
9.30 (9.15 once a month) – 11.15am Full Rehearsal and Service of Eucharist
5.45 - 7.30pm Rehearsal and Service of Choral Evensong (Volunteers and Scholars)
