Christ Church Southgate is pleased to invite applications from scholarship candidates of all voice parts for auditions in late September 2010.  All four awards are now vacant.  The deadline for applications is Friday 17th September 2010.

Each scholarship is worth £500 per annum, to be put towards a musical enterprise of the scholar's choosing.  This could be lessons, summer schools or courses, recording projects or any sensible suggestion of the scholar's.

Candidates must be be between the ages of 16 and 25 on 1st August 2011.  They must be able to commit to a regular Friday evening rehearsal and Sunday services of Evensong and Eucharist and be prepared to play an active part in the life of the choir.

The Application Process

Friday 17th September - Deadline for applications

Friday 17th September, 8pm - Open Rehearsal.  Prospective candidates are invited to observe a typical Friday evening rehearsal.

On receipt of your application you will be contacted to arrange an audition with the Director of Music between 19th and 30th September.  You may also be invited to sing with the choir at a service on Sunday 26th September.

The audition will be an informal meeting with the Director of Music.  It will include some aural and range tests, a prepared piece and some sight-reading.  You should prepare one piece of any style or genre to sing with or without accompaniment.
