Fabric Fund
Generous donations from many parishioners and friends of Christ Church to the Fabric Fund have helped to make restoration of the Church possible. The first phase was completed in April 2005. We hope to complete the second phase in 2007.
Phase 1 (Restoration of the interior roof)
The fund for Phase 1 reached nearly £120,000 and the cost of the project (site investigation, professional fees, repairing the internal roof, painting the interior, and restoring the church kitchen) was about £100,000.
Phase 2 (Restoration of the Tower & Spire, Lady Chapel Roof and wall paintings)
The fund for Phase 2 stands at about £60,000 (including £20,000 carried over from Phase 1). Some £4,000 has been spent on site inspection ( tower and scaffolding) in preparation for work beginning - we hope - in the New Year. The cost of this may be in excess of £150,000.
