Christ Church Southgate is one of the hosts of the Enfield Churches Winter Night Shelter, managed by the charity All People All Places. We work in partnership with our daughter church St Andrew’s Southgate and share the task of providing the shelter, alternating each year. In 2020 the Shelter will take place at St Andrew’s. The shelter offers a hot meal and a bed for the night to up to 12 homeless people with low support needs who are referred by APAP. Seven churches in Enfield take part in the scheme between January and March.
Find out more about being a volunteer by reading the APAP Volunteer Handbook. Volunteers for setting up, preparing meals and providing overnight supervision are most welcome. Contact Sandra Anderson, Night Shelter Co-ordinator via the Parish Office for more information.
Donations of bedding, clothing and food also welcome at our church and the others in the scheme; St Luke’s Clay Hill, St John the Evangelist Palmers Green, All Saints Edmonton, Enfield Baptist Church, St Alphege Edmonton and Lancaster Road United Reformed Church.
We are sorry but we are unable to accept referrals from any other charity or approaches directly from rough sleepers.
