The Christchurch Association (CCA) provides a social centre for the parish and is responsible for running the Top Step Bar, which offers a wide range of soft and alcoholic drinks and is located upstairs in the Reception Room in Church House. This is a comfortable and welcoming environment and, in addition to our normal opening hours, we organise regular social events (see newsletter below for details of forthcoming events) as well as providing bar facilities for the May Day Fair and a number of other church occasions. We donate funds to the church and local charities, with current and recent projects including the Christ Church Organ Appeal Fund, the Winter Shelter and the Brain Tumour Research Campaign.
The CCA is open to all who worship at Christ Church, live in the parish and/or are associated with a group that uses the Parish Centre. It is a legal requirement that all who use the CCA facilities must either be a member or signed in as a guest, but it is a very simple process to become a member and it only costs £2 per year. New members are always welcome, and if you are interested please visit the bar or talk to any committee member.
Unfortunately there is no level access to the Bar, which is reached by a flight of stairs in Church House.
CCA Committee Members are: Chris Binns, Pat Collins (Hon. Treasurer), Mick Greenaway, Ronald Lo, John Macrory, Philip Miall, Angela Smith, Steve Smith (Membership Secretary), Clive Woodhouse (Chairman) and Steve Wyatt (Hon. Secretary).
