There are many different ways in which you can take part in our services and support the worship of the whole church. The following roles are filled by members of the congregation every Sunday.
Readers
Reading the lessons from the Bible at all the Sunday services.
Chalice Assistants
Distributing the Chalice at the Sunday morning Eucharists.
Servers
Serving at the Altar at Sunday Eucharists and other main services.
Intercessors
Preparing and leading the prayers of intercession at the 10 am Sunday Eucharist.
If you are interested in finding out more about any of these roles please speak to Fr Chrichton or email frch138@btinternet.com. Previous experience is not necessary for any of them, as full training and support will be given if you need it. They all operate on a rota system, so you can volunteer to do as much or as little as you are able.
Sidesmen
Welcome people to church by handing out service sheets, hymn books, taking the collection and guiding people to receive communion. There is a rota system in place, but usual commitment is one Sunday per month. If you are interested please contact Judith Lo via office@christchurch-southgate.org.
Sunday Coffee Rota
We serve tea and coffee after the main Sunday service and would always welcome more help. It is a great way of meeting our regular worshipping community. Contact Hilary Meur via office@christchurch-southgate.org.
