We are privileged at Christ Church to have three Licensed Lay Ministers (LLMs) to assist and lead our work and worship. LLMs are not ordained but are licenced by the Bishop, after some years’ training, to take part in many aspects of the life of the church, including preaching, assisting in worship, education and small group work and many valuable pastoral duties.
Cathy Dallman has been a lay reader at Christ Church for many years. She preaches frequently at our services, visits the sick and the housebound and plays an active role in many of our social and charity events. Cathy also chairs our Pastoral Committee. A graduate in Zoology from London University, now retired from teaching Biology, Cathy has two grown sons – one working for the church as a missionary in Japan!
Jackie Anderson was licensed as a lay reader in November 2008. She assists the clergy in several areas, including taking the sacrament to the sick and infirm, conducting Evensong and acting as liturgical deacon at the Eucharist. Jackie also chairs our Social Responsibility Committee which raises thousands of pounds for local, national and international charities each year.
Sandra Anderson has recently joined the team as a newly licensed lay minister. She currently assists the clergy as a liturgical deacon at the Eucharist and officiates at Evensong. She is a member of the PCC, a Deanery Synod representative and secretary to the Pastoral Committee. She will be developing her pastoral care role. Sandra has taken a lead in organising the Christ Church winter night shelter and continues to work on our Eco awareness. She is a podiatrist working locally and in central London and is married, with two daughters.
